God’s Plans Are Bigger: Winter Mission Recap

Two-year collage of winter missions for the homeless.

2023 Bold Prayers and Broken Chains

In December 2023, with support from our church family at New Jerusalem Praise & Worship Center, we took to the streets of Atlanta armed with love, prayer, and provision. Our mission: to share the warmth of God’s love with the homeless community during the cold winter months.

We packed:

  • Food and warm gear (jackets, blankets, gloves, and socks).

  • Care kits (hygiene products, feminine care, and mental health resources).

  • Scripture-filled cards and tracts (on topics like hope, addiction, and depression).

  • Crisis hotline numbers and shelter information.

As we went out two by two, we prayed over every care package, trusting God to guide us to those who needed these items—and His love—the most. And He did.

That day, many tears were shed. Volunteers who had never prayed for anyone before became bold intercessors, laying hands on strangers and calling on Heaven to intervene. One young volunteer admitted, “I was nervous at first, but when I saw how people responded to prayer, I knew God was doing something bigger than me.”

Every encounter felt like a divine appointment. Strangers opened up about their struggles, their fears, and their faith. Some asked for prayer; others just wanted to be heard. Through it all, we were reminded that ministry isn’t about grand gestures—it’s about meeting people where they are, offering the love of Christ with humility and sincerity.

We left that day inspired by the resilience and faith of the people we met. God doesn’t call the equipped—He equips the called.

2024 Divine Detours

This past December marked Year Two of our mission to bring warmth, hope, and love to those who need it most. As we stepped into the streets with blankets, Bibles, and bold prayers, God reminded us in every moment that His plans are far greater than ours—and sometimes, those plans start with what feels like a detour.

Try as we might, we couldn’t go out how we’d originally planned. But in the first week of January, we hit the road with a couple of friends, stepping into God’s timing with open hearts.

The Day God Took the Wheel

Our team of volunteers gathered early on a cold morning, cars loaded with tents, jackets, blankets, care kits, and even special packages for children. We prayed over the work ahead of us, trusting God to lead us to the exact people who needed them.

Then, we split up into teams of two and headed on our routes.

But right as the first team got started, Mat’s car stalled out. The engine wouldn’t start, and the team was stuck on the side of the road before reaching their first stop. While it would’ve been easy to feel frustrated, we immediately turned to prayer—asking God to guide us and use this situation for His glory.

That’s when we met Cheyenne, a young woman whose day hadn’t gone as planned.

Cheyenne told us she had boarded a bus that brought her somewhere entirely different than she’d intended to go. Frustrated and unsure what to do, she wandered into the very area where we had just arrived with care kits and devotionals.

She was a mother who needed food and a little extra help to secure a roof that week. She shared how she’d been praying for guidance, not knowing how she would make it through the day. When we handed her a care kit packed with hygiene products, warm gloves, and the very things she needed, she broke down in gratitude.

Meanwhile, back at Mat’s car, we regrouped to join forces. What seemed like a setback quickly revealed itself as part of God’s plan.

A Divine Setup

The car breakdown happened in a place we hadn’t planned to stop:

  • A bus station full of people needing encouragement.

  • A homeless camp across the street that wasn’t on our original route.

  • A parking lot of cars where we left messages of God’s unconditional love and promises.

What felt like a disruption turned into an opportunity to minister to an even greater harvest. From the stalled car to the unexpected stops, it was clear that He was orchestrating something far beyond what we could’ve planned ourselves.

We left inspired by the resilience and faith we witnessed. Every person we met is a soul cherished by the Father, and we’re humbled to have been part of His work.

2025 Looking Ahead: Be Part of the Mission

This year, we were able to acquire pop-up tents and more supplies than ever before. Your purchases, prayers, and shares make a real impact, helping us fund initiatives that go beyond fashion—they’re faith in action.

As we head into 2025, we’re praying for even greater opportunities to serve, connect, and share the love of Christ. This is just the beginning, and we’re so thankful for everyone who has supported us—whether through prayers, purchases, or simply spreading the word about our mission.

We’d also love to pray for you! Send us your prayer requests so we can seek God together and celebrate as we watch His hand move.

"He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time."

2 Timothy 1:9

Let’s keep going. The path may be narrow, but it’s filled with light.
